CUE Announces Educational Technology Conference in Napa Valley

Nov. 6, 2009

Walnut Creek, CA - Computer-Using Educators (CUE), Inc. is proud to announce the return of its Fall Conference, to be held Nov. 5-6, 2010 in the City of American Canyon in Napa Valley. The two day event will focus on student achievement, new and emerging technologies, online learning and innovative uses of technology in K-20 environments.

The event will feature two keynotes, pre-conference workshops, concurrent sessions, a student technology showcase and educational and technology leaders as featured speakers at an extraordinary value. CUE Members will receive a discount to attend.

Napa Valley Unified School District will host the conference on the campus of American Canyon High School, the region's newest school, which is being designed as a national model for small learning communities, green and sustainable technologies and 21st Century student centered learning. When it opens in August, it is expected to receive LEED Gold certification due to its innovative use of state-of-the-art environmentally sensitive construction and power management techniques. The campus will feature smart classrooms, cloud computing, a campus-wide one-to-one laptop program, and an innovative network to support all wireless devices seamlessly.

"CUE returns to northern California the way we began 30 years ago, through an affordable, power-packed conference for all educators," states Brian Bridges, CUE Board President. He adds, "CUE is proud to partner with Napa Valley Unified in this new endeavor."

Both Napa Valley Unified School District Superintendent John Glaser and Napa County Superintendent of Schools, Barbara Nemko "welcome CUE to Napa County, where New Tech High was born." Nemko adds, "We are attempting to broaden the reach of schools like New Tech so that all students have access to project-based learning using technology.  We believe this is a potent strategy for closing the achievement gap."
