A CUE member for more than 20 years and a former Central California CUE President, I’ve served for the past six years as Program Manager for CTAP Region 6 where I assist districts with technology planning and grants, create and present curriculum integration training, and manage a variety of programs including AB75 principal training. Previously, I taught for 20 years and served as project coordinator for CLRN where I supervised electronic learning resource reviews, managed the annual production of the CTAP CD-ROM and wrote software reviews for OnCUE. I have regularly presented at CUE and other conferences, I’ve written feature articles for OnCUE, and I currently write a regular OnCUE column called onCTAP. I believe that CUE is a vital organization that provides leadership through legislative activities, conferences, and legislative advocacy. Under Mike Lawrence’s leadership, CUE has recovered from the recession, and his ideas are setting a positive course for CUE’s future. The March CUE conference continues to gain attendance, and CUE is creating new partnerships to expand its influence. However, with the Fall CUE conference only a memory, a declining northern California base challenges CUE as members search for reasons to belong. I believe that CUE must establish a strong presence in northern California including a return to a single or multi-day conference. I am committed to promoting the following values and ideas:
