My interest and love for technology began when I was first introduced to the IBM Magnetic Tape/Selectric Typewriter more than twenty years ago.  I immediately saw the impact this would have on my everyday life.   The introduction of the Apple IIe into the classroom environment was an exciting time for me. Students eagerly embraced the new technology. Teachers and administrators saw that the computer could be used as the patient tutor for those students needing reinforcement or as the motivator for those students needing a challenge. I see technology as an invaluable tool for today’s successful educator.

For the past two years, I have been Principal at Rivera Elementary School in Pico Rivera. Previously, I was the District Technology Resource Teacher for El Rancho Unified School District. During the summer months I have worked as a Professional Expert for Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) working at Teach the Teachers in Ojai and the summer Intensive Technology Institute in Long Beach. I have taught at the primary and middle school grade levels. At the higher education level I have taught technology courses at Whittier College, Cerritos College and College of the Desert in Palm Desert.

If elected to the CUE Board, I will work toward preserving the mission of CUE. In this era of budget cuts and restraints, the investment in technology must be proven to the public. Technology has the potential to support new and better ways. CUE is the ideal vehicle to lead this march.
