If elected, I will bring an experience set to the CUE Board of Directors that will serve the organization well. My credentials and recognitions, my experience, and my record of contributions to educational technology have provided me with informed insights into the responsibilities and challenges faced by our profession and by CUE.
Experience:
- 35 years classroom teaching experience in a high school academic curriculum area
- 25 years promoting technology in education at conferences, workshops, and institutes
- served two terms on the East Bay CUE Board of Directors
- served as adjunct faculty for two university graduate programs teaching courses in educational technology.
- (not to be undervalued) married to an educator with 15 years of school administration experience at the elementary and secondary levels.
Credentials/Recognitions:
- M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Educational Technology
- Apple Distinguished Educator
- Google Certified Teacher
- CUE Gold Disk and Outstanding Teacher Award recipient
Contributions:
- Developed educational software published by Scott Foreman
- Presented in 14 states and Russia and to high level educational and political leaders from 20 states and 8 countries in Apple Computer's Executive Briefing Center in Cupertino
- Developed educational technology projects featured online by CTAP, Apple, Google, ISTE, NECC, Discovery Educator Network, Education World, The Infinite Thinking Machine, Web English online, and others.
- Invited to meet with US Secretary of Education Margaret Spelling to share my thoughts and concerns about the role of technology in educational improvement.
