Advancing Student Achievement Through Technology
Robert Craven
Robert EM CravenEducational Technology Coordinator Orange County Department of Education Costa Mesa, CA Member Nominated | listen to interview I would appreciate your support for my candidacy to the Computer-Using Educators Board of Directors. If elected, I will utilize my experiences to serve the members of the organization well. In my 15 years as an educator, nothing can compare to the impact of my first CUE Conference. As the second conference I attended, CUE made an indelible mark upon me, shaping my view of education and technology. I look forward to bringing the knowledge and skills I've gained since that first conference to serving CUE. My experience includes working as a classroom teacher, site technology coordinator for the largest middle school in the country, and a county level technology coordinator. I've been fortunate as an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Teacher to be provided with numerous advocacy opportunities to present the value of educational technology to varied leaders. Through the county I've spoken on the benefits of online learning before the state assembly. I've been involved with local CUE affiliates (including Keynoting the 2008 CUELA conference), work with CUE, including as a frequent presenter at the Palm Springs CUE conference for years, and a presenter at ISTE's NECC. I strongly contend that ubiquitous technology access is essential for both students and educators if we are to prepare our children for the challenges of this century. If elected to the board I will advocate to support educators with implementing educational technology and to advocate the necessity of technology for all in the education community. |
