I would like your support for my candidacy on the CUE Board of Directors.  I have been involved in technology and education for my entire career and welcome the opportunity to continue my involvement in statewide initiatives with CUE.  Having recently retired, I now have more time to pursue my passion for technology.

My involvement in CUE began in the ‘70’s in Modesto where I served as a principal and brought computers into my schools.  I worked in Personnel Services in several districts and used technology to innovate the recruitment/selection process and substitute teacher assignment system.

As Superintendent of Fullerton School District, we implemented a 1:1 Laptop Computer Program for 2,500 students and worked to provide all teachers in the district with a personal laptop. Our program was recognized nationally and Apple Computer used Fullerton SD as a demonstration site.  I was recognized by the American Association of School Administrators with the “President’s Technology Award” and by Project Tomorrow for “District Leadership of the Year for High Tech Innovation.”

I believe that our children will not be able to compete in a “flat world” without the availability of current technology on a regular 24/7 basis!  As a member of the Board of Directors for CUE, I will continue to support educators in the incorporation of technology in the classroom to benefit students and continue my legislative advocacy for technology as a CUE Board member.
