I am running for re-election to the CUE Board of Directors so I can continue to contribute to CUE’s revitalization. During these past three years on the Board I have served as liaison to the 30th Pearl Anniversary Planning Committee, to three affiliates and two Special Interest Groups (SIGs). I have also served as the Volunteer Coordinator on California’s MVP Committee for NECC 2006 in San Diego.

My job as Coordinator of Technology and Outreach at Seeds University Elementary School–laboratory school for UCLA’s Graduate School of Education & Information Studies–has provided me with a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between K-12 education and best practices in university research on a wide variety of topics, and outsourcing our “best practices” to schools in Southern California. My work as an independent consultant for EETT Grants and for ISTE has provided me with a rare opportunity to work with teachers and administrators both locally and nationally to integrate technology into meaningful learning experiences for students. I continue to be active in CUE Los Angeles–serving as vice president of programs. I also serve as a mentor for the ISTE/HP Technology for Teachers program.

I have a Doctorate in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University, co-developed the Creating a Thinking Curriculum Institute which received the 2002 national award from SBC/Partners in Education for the successful integration of technology into instruction, was selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2003, and received Best of NECC presenter award in 2004.

I am committed to ensuring that CUE “advances student achievement through technology” to ensure that ALL of our students have the requisite skills to be successful, productive citizens in a global society.
