As an elementary classroom teacher, I was first introduced to CUE through my local CUE affiliate. After 10 years of teaching, I worked for the California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) Region IV (1996-2001) helping schools and districts implement technology grants, creating summer technology training opportunities, and helping districts with technology planning. Currently, I work for Castro Valley Unified School District coordinating district assessments, interventions, and instructional technology programs. I also serve on the Advisory Board for the K-12 High Speed Network. I have been on the East Bay CUE Board of Directors since 1999 and am currently serving my second term as President helping to establish the Cool Tools conference for the last five years. I was nominated for and honored to receive a CUE Gold Disk in 2007. Over the years, I have increased my involvement with CUE by serving on the Communications Committee (2002-present) and chairing the Affiliate Leadership Committee (2004-present). The revitalized Affiliate Leadership Committee has held meetings for affiliate and SIG leaders at CUE conferences and has worked on bringing resources to affiliates and SIGs in order to attract membership. Affiliates and SIGs are often entry points for new CUE members. CUE has been an integral part of every step in my career. I would like to continue to help make CUE such an organization for others.
