STUDENT TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE- A COMMUNITY EVENT
The California Department of Education, California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) and Computer-Using Educators (CUE) are pleased to sponsor the tenth Student Technology Showcase. The showcase will feature student projects from CTAP regions, as well as statewide representation for Environmental and Spatial Technology (EAST) projects. This is an excellent staff development opportunity for teachers and others to see effective integration of technology in the curriculum. The Student Technology Showcase is free for all attendees on Saturday, March 7. http://showcase.k12hsn.org
EXHIBIT HALL
Over 200 vendor displays featuring the latest in education technology resources. The Exhibit Hall is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Come prepared to shop! Unlike other educational conferences, CUE allows selling in the Exhibit Hall. Get those purchase orders ready! Exhibits are open to all registered attendees and do not require an additional fee. ONE-DAY-ONLY EXHIBIT HALL TICKET
Now it is even more affordable to attend the CUE Conference! If you can't get away from school, you can purchase a one-day-only Exhibit Hall ticket. The fee is $25 onsite. No pre-registration available.
REGISTRATION DISCOUNTS
In addition to regular group discounts, there are even more incentives to attend CUE. Bring five teachers and your Administrator or School Board Member attends FREE! Current members receive a $40 discount. Students with proof of full-time status receive a discount as well. For various registration options, please see the registration form on page 18.
CTAP PRESENTS 2009
A feature of the CUE conference hosted by the California Technology Assistance Project Friday, March 6. Free hands-on technology integration sessions for teachers and administrators and a CTAP presentation room featuring professional development, state-adopted language arts programs, and much more.
CLRN SESSIONS
The California Learning Resource Network (CLRN) is a statewide education technology service of the California Department of Education. It provides educators with "one-stop" for review information needed for the selection of supplemental electronic learning resources aligned to the State Board of Education academic content standards, including video, software and web information links, and electronic learning assessment resources for managing student data to impact teaching and learning. CLRN presenters will be offering sessions on Friday, March 6.
CUE TIPS
These quick, 20-minute presentations focus on emerging and existing innovations to enhance learning, productivity, or understanding. They will focus on one or two tips, techniques, or resources. CUE Tips are located in Oasis 1, PSCC on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
FIRST TIMERS ORIENTATION SESSION
First time at CUE? Want to jump-start your experience? Find out how the conference REALLY works - and meet some movers and shakers in the process. This session will be held in Madera, Wyndahm Hotel on Thursday, March 5, 7:30 - 8:15 am, and on Friday, March 6, 7:00 - 7:45 am.
DIGITAL MEDIA ACADEMY
Free Sessions- The Digital Media Academy will offer one-hour, hands-on sessions all day Friday and Saturday for educators interested in exploring the latest digital media technology. These sessions are free and included with regular conference registration. Academy instructors are a combination of nationally-know industry experts, master teachers and award-winning digital artists. Open Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7. EETT FEATURED STRAND
In California, close to $30 million in funding to support Educational Technology each year is made possible through the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 as part of an effort called Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT). Under the provisions of EETT, the funds are to be used to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in schools. Funds are distributed through formula and competitive grants. The sessions in this strand are designed to help schools and districts to better plan for and implement EETT projects.
COLLEGE CREDITS
Fresno Pacific University is pleased to be able to offer professional growth credit for attendance at the CUE Conference. Onsite registration will be available in the registration area of the Palm Springs Convention Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tuition fee is $60 for each unit. Payment may be made by check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card. A written assignment will be required. Details provided at the time of registration.
