2009 LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

Dr. Debra Pickering

In partnership with CA-ASCD (California Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development), CUE, Inc. proudly presents a Leadership Summit for all instructional leaders at the site or district level.  We have known for a long time that there are assessment and instructional strategies that have a high likelihood of enhancing student learning.  We know, for example, that communicating clear learning goals, providing effective feedback, using nonlinguistic representations, and identifying similarities and differences are all strategies that work.  However, knowing this is not enough.

The challenge is to increase the frequency and quality of the implementation of these strategies.  This interactive workshop will provide participants with an understanding of how and why technology in the classroom- interactive whiteboards, clickers, Internet-- can help achieve these implementation goals.  They will understand how these tools can be used to spread effective practices even more than traditional workshops, curriculum guides, common assessments, and classroom observations have been able to achieve.

Who Should Attend?  All school, district, and county leaders involved in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. This includes: superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals, assistant principals, directors and coordinators.
