Network to Learn in Monterey!



Once again the California League of Middle Schools (CLMS), California League of High Schools (CLHS) and National High School Association (NHSA) are teaming up with Computer-Using Educators (CUE) to offer an exciting educational technology conference in Central California this coming December.

Learning to Network, Networking to Learn will be held from December 4-7, 2008, at the Portola Hotel in Monterey, CA.

Keynote Speakers

Susan Patrick
Friday, December 5

As the president and chief executive officer of the North American Council for Online Learning, the former director of the Office of Educational Technology at the U.S. Department of Education, and a frequent expert for print and television outlets such as Education Week, NPR and CNN, Susan Patrick brings a high-level, strategic view to the ed-tech sector.
David Jakes
Saturday, December 6

David Jakes is a district instructional technology coordinator and highly regarded ed-tech guru who teaches educators to harness the power of collaborative digital tools so students, teachers and administrators can build their own personal learning networks, connecting to peers and experts to enhance discovery, creativity and innovation.
Peggy Sheehy
Sunday, December 7

Peggy Sheehy is known nationally for creating authentic spaces and curricula for student learning in the “Teen Second Life” virtual world. A middle school instructional technology facilitator and media specialist, Peggy holds a master’s degree in educational technology and is pursuing a second master’s in library and information science.

Practical, exciting sessions are presented by knowledgeable, talented educators from schools and districts across California – and from organizations such as CLRN, CTAP, TechSETS and TICAL.

Optional Ticketed Focus Sessions
