BIO

Suzanne switched from the high tech world into education in 1997 and has never looked back. She joined CUE and immediately immersed in the CUE Conference Planning Committee. She quickly became chair of the committee and served in this capacity for 6 years. It’s been a mission of passion—it’s all about making a difference with kids. Suzanne works as Director of Technology at Las Lomitas Elementary School District in Menlo Park. It’s the same district her 3 children attended, and where she had numerous volunteer leadership roles. She simply wanted to make a difference in her schools there too. And has.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I switched from the high tech world into education in 1997 and have never looked back. I joined the SVCUE affiliate in '97 and loved the opportunities and collaborations of all the educators there.  I then immersed in the Annual Conference Planning Committee, and chaired Annual CUE for many years. It’s a mission of passion, working with talented volunteer teachers and administrators who are focused on ways to improve their teaching in order to meet the needs of their students.

I proudly am the Director of Technology at Las Lomitas Elementary School District in Menlo Park. It’s the same district my 3 children attended, and where I had numerous volunteer leadership roles. I often joke that when my 3 kids went to college, I was ready for another batch—but this time it's 1400! As we support CUE members being innovating learners, I am appreciative that I have been able to set an example by bringing back long lists of shared ideas and resources to my own district.

The last 3 years as an active board member have been during some significantly changing times in education. My role on the CUE board parallels my day job in the schools – supporting the needs of the teachers and offering ways curriculum is enriched with appropriate technologies and creative learning opportunities.

I ask for your support and vote in order to continue to carefully listen to all your needs, your affiliate needs, and working with the board to continue to sculpt solutions.working with the board to continue to sculpt solutions.  Thank you.
