About the Show
Educators across the country are constantly seeking to improve their own skills, and they increasingly turn to the Internet for help. Many have discovered the power of blogs, twitter and podcasts, but these lack regularity, consistent quality, and in some cases, mass appeal. And while there are several outstanding online shows for the tech market (GeekBeat, Tekzilla, TWiT, etc.), there is very little high-quality, engaging, and relevant content highlighting innovation in education on a regular basis.
CUE and its partners seek to fill this gap by producing a high energy, Internet TV show directly targeted at K12 educators, parents and students. The short-form shows (5-7 minutes) will have an engaging, knowledgeable host and feature real educators sharing tools and instructional practices that showcase “bright spots” in innovative classrooms around the world. We will capture the attention of the audience through a fast-paced, slightly quirky format that provides rich examples of innovative uses of technology, relevant project-based learning, 21st century skills, and content mastery that prepare students for college and careers in a fast-changing world. Think of the teacher you most adored in school - the one you stayed-in with during recess just to keep learning! That's the experience we're looking to create for educators across the country. Delivered over the web, every other week, the show MUST have high production value, be easy to access on any device at any time, and be infinitely re-usable at teacher staff meetings, training events, and even in class.
CUE is in a perfect position to produce the show. It has a large, growing membership spread across the country, an extensive network of affiliates and partners, and numerous professional development events to promote and distribute the show. More importantly, we have rock star teachers, lead trainers, and education thought leaders ready and willing to offer their best ideas, lessons, tips and stories.
To boost the launch of the show, CUE has secured the rights to re-boot the popular Infinite Thinking Machine (ITM) brand, and it has engaged the creator and producer of the show, Chris Fitzgerald Walsh, to be an executive producer in the re-launched property. CUE has existing, long-standing relationships with prospective sponsors and is currently seeking production and distribution partners for ITM 2.0. A number of education non-profits stand ready in the wings to support the effort as well.
