CUE and Partners Announce 9th Annual Leadership 3.0 Symposium

January 28, 2016

-- Sir Ken Robinson and Dr. Joe Sanfelippo to Keynote --

Walnut Creek, Calif., January 28, 2016 -- CUE is honored to once again to co-produce the Leadership 3.0 Symposium (Lead 3), which will take place April 14-16, 2016  in Redondo Beach, California. Lead 3 is the only event designed for administrators by administrators so that educational leaders can learn how best to use technology for student achievement. Sir Ken Robinson and Dr. Joe Sanfelippo will be keynoting the event.

This year’s theme is Future Ready Leadership, Beyond the Pledge: Moving Forward with Grit, Courage, & Tenacity, and sessions will include such topics as keeping student data safe in the cloud, creating successful blended learning and makerspace programs, the need for digital citizenship, ensuring districts are using all available resources to ensure student achievement and success -- including common core strategies, smarter balanced assessment strategies, Google drive, leading edge, podcasts, blogs, and more. In addition to participating in the sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from other administrators and to talk through some of today’s educational challenges and maybe find solutions or at least inspiration.

Sir Ken Robinson is an internationally recognized authority in creativity and innovation in both education and business. He is also one of the world’s leading speakers. Videos of his famous TED talks are the most viewed in the history of the organization and have been seen by an estimated 300 million people in over 150 countries. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his groundbreaking contributions including a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 for his services to the arts. His latest book Creative Schools: The Grassroots Revolution That’s Transforming Education (Viking 2015) tackles the critical issue of how to transform the nation’s troubled educational system.

Dr. Joe Sanfelippo is Superintendent of the Fall Creek School District in Fall Creek, WI. Joe is also an adjunct professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Viterbo University. Joe co-hosts the Successful Schools Podcast and co-authored The Power of Branding: Telling Your School’s Story and Principal Professional Development: Leading Learning in a Digital Age. He was selected as a Future Ready Superintendent in 2014 by the US Department of Education and attended a summit at the White House.

Joe has been a featured speaker in multiple states in the areas of Advancing the Use of Social Media in School Districts, Creating a Culture of Yes, Professional Growth for Staff, and Organizational and Systems Change. Joe was a finalist for a 2014 and 2015 Bammy Award in the categories of Superintendent of the Year and Talk Show Host of the Year.

Lead 3 is produced through the collaboration of three organizations: the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), the Technology Information Center for Administrative Leadership (TICAL), and CUE. The Lead 3 mission is summed up as “three organizations, one mission -- educational leadership for the 21st century.”

Nearly 400 leaders attended last year’s event, and organizers expect a similar number to attend this year.  “Lead 3 is the one event where top school and district administrators, technology coordinators and curriculum directors can come together to move education forward through technology, innovation and leadership,” said Mike Lawrence, CUE’s CEO.

Registration is available on-site Thursday and Friday. Discounted team rates are available for groups of three or more and for those interested in attending Saturday. Additional information on the event, including sessions, keynotes and registration details can be found at www.lead3.org.
