Walnut Creek, Calif., October 16, 2014 -- CUE is thrilled to announce that Jennie Magiera will be its Kickoff Keynote speaker for the CUE 2015 Annual Conference, March 19-21, in Palm Springs, California. Ms. Magiera’s session will take place Thursday, March 19 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and will be the first of three dynamic speakers, including Adam Bellow and TED Prize winner Sugata Mitra.
Jennie Magiera is the Digital Learning Coordinator for the Academy for Urban School Leadership, a network of 32 Chicago Public Schools. She previously taught math to 4th and 5th graders. A White House Champion for Change, Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Teacher and CPS’s 2012 Tech Innovator of the Year, Magiera has been working to redefine education through the use of effective technology. She explores how to leverage 1:1 devices such as Chromebooks and iPads to increase student collaboration, self-efficacy and creativity.
She is also passionate about transforming professional learning as she is the co-founder of PLAYDATE and other new professional development models. Aside from her students, Magiera’s great loves in life are sci fi, mashed potatoes, Tabasco sauce, her dog and her husband.
