CUE Debuts BOLD Symposium

May 3, 2016

Update: On pause for 2016,

COMING - Summer 2017

A Premiere Lesson Design Event for the West Coast

CUE is thrilled to announce its new Blended Online Lesson Design (BOLD) Symposium, taking place June 22- 23, 2016 at Burton Valley Elementary School, in Lafayette, California. Registration for the event begins at $199 for CUE members at www.cue.org/BOLD.

The event is a reboot of the eLearning Strategies Symposium, an event first launched four years ago. The BOLD Symposium was created to enhance both the skills and visions of District Office, County Level, and Site Level Administrators, TOSAs, Tech Coaches and classroom educators. The Symposium will present best practices for blended lesson design, learning platforms, and even physical learning spaces! The event will feature three unique strands: the Lesson Maker's Faire, the Classroom Simulator and the first-ever Classroom Cribs design showcase.

Twenty of CUE’s Lead Learners will be sharing their most innovative 1:1 and blended lessons in the CUE Lesson Maker’s Faire -- where attendees will have access to all the project-oriented and highly digital lesson plans via supporting web pages. This will be a valuable opportunity for districts and educators seeking to move their classrooms to the cloud and to leverage best practices in their districts, schools and classrooms.

All major learning platforms, including Apple, Google and Microsoft will be presenting their solutions in the Classroom Simulator sessions, allowing district personnel and innovative teachers to compare the best tools available in the context of a classroom experience.

The Classroom Cribs design showcase, featuring equipment from HP, furniture from Bretford, and whiteboards from Diversitrack will feature two renowned educators -- Erin Klein (@kleinerin) and Ed Campos Jr (@EdCamposJr) -- who will redesign two REAL classrooms using additional video screens, flexible seating and classroom enhancements that will be affordable for any district to emulate. Erin Klein is a co-founder of ClassroomCribs.com, a web page that seeks to create learning environments that maximize student learning by escaping the classroom cliche of lined-up desks.

Longtime partner iNACOL will continue its support for the reinvented Symposium, with the organization’s COO, Bruce Friend, kicking off the June event.
