By popular demand, the eLearning Strategies Symposium (eSS) has extended the Early-Bird Registration rate until October 22, 2013. Individual registrations are currently $159 and groups of two or more may register for $149 each. After November 1st, individual registration rises to $199 and group registrations rise to $169. Refer to our registration form for purchase order directions.
This year’s symposium includes three great keynote speakers. Keynoting at 8:30am on Friday, December 6th is Governor Bob Wise, co-founder of Digital Learning Now. During lunch, after our eLearning Advocate and Online Teacher of the Year awards are presented, Dr. Eric Mazur will provide our next keynote. Our closing keynote on Saturday is provided by Jon Bergmann, founder of the flipped classroom.
More than 70 sessions are scheduled during the two-day event. Friday’s highlights include Debbie Morrison’s How to Design an Excellent Online Course; Lesley Farmer’s Engaging Students with Special Needs Online; Catlin Tucker’s Project Based Learning in a Blended Learning Model; Jenny Thomas’ Online Performance Tasks for the Common Core State Standards; and Alice Keeler and Joe Wood presenting The Importance of Community in an Online Environment. With ten presentations each hour, attendees will have a vast array from which to choose. eSS is rolling out hourly sessions on our main page and the full-conference SCHED will be published shortly.
Five paid three-hour workshops are also available for attendees. On Thursday, December 5th, attendees may choose from Tablets in the Classroom (iPad or Android) presented by Kyle Brumbaugh or Using iBooks Author to Create Interactive Resources with Burt Lo. Saturday morning, attendees may register for Flipped Classroom – Hands on Getting Started with Lisa Highfill, Google Forms: May the Forms be With You with Will Kimbley, and Teach the Common Core with Blended Instruction with Catlin Tucker. At just $75 each, these workshops are designed for cost-recovery only as a benefit to our attendees. More information about eSS workshops may be found online.
