Nomination Information

The call for Board of Directors nominations is open August through the third Thursday of December of each year. For the 2016 board, all nomination materials must be received by CUE by December 17 in order to be considered for candidacy in the election. All submitted nominations are then reviewed by the Nominations Committee and candidates are selected. An online ballot will be made available to all current members from the Saturday of the Annual Conference through the last Thursday in April. Election results are announced on twitter.

The deadline for 2015 nominations is closed.

The nomination process is simple. CUE members can be nominated in either of two ways:

  • By your affiliate (a letter of nomination is required from your CUE affiliate's President).
  • By five current members of CUE (each must write a separate letter of nomination).

Nominees must complete their nominations by submitting all of the following:

  • A "letter of intent" which indicates a willingness to serve, and include your curent contact information;
  • A 250-word statement which supports your candidacy (this statement will be used in the ballot sent to members);
  • A 50-100 word bio.
  • A digital print quality color photograph (hi-res digital version required).

All completed nominations will be reviewed by the CUE Nominating Committee and the Board of Directors will confirm the final nominees in January. Following the confirmation of official nominees, each will be given the opportunity and resources to record an audio interview to be included on the CUEcast at cue.org.
