Advancing Student Achievement Through Technology
Student Technology Showcase
Please visit the new Student Technology Showcase website hosted by the K12HSN! Search for projects by subject, grade level, and the type of technology used. Watch short videos about these projects, and consider adding your own projects to the site!Showcase Background
CDE sponsored the first statewide Student Technology Showcase on March 5, 2001. The showcase highlighted curriculum-based student technology projects from grades four through twelve. Students selected through each CTAP region presented their projects to an audience of over 800 people, which included parents, teachers, administrators, higher education representatives, CDE employees, CTAP members, and legislators. Exemplary project presentations included Web, video, multimedia, graphic art, sensor/probe data and analysis, animation, and database development.
The Showcase, sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE), California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP), and Computer Using Educators (CUE) featured students from CTAP regions as well as representation for Environmental and Spatial Technology (EAST) projects. The event is an excellent staff development opportunity to see effective integration of technology and the curriculum. More than 2000 people attended the 2008 Showcase held in Palm Springs.
