CUE is spotlighting members’ classrooms and student voices through the powerful media distribution tool of podcasting. CUE will circulate an Apple iPod, Griffin iTalk voice recorder, and a digital camera connector to a different class of students for two-week periods of time to record their own podcast and reflect on a question we pose to them.  They will also take photos and store them on the iPod. Then, they will ship it back to CUE. CUE staff will upload the files, repack the gear and send it to the next group of students.

Volunteers will then edit the audio into a 5-15 minute “STUDENT VOICES” podcast, complete with a CUE intro/outro and brief promotion of CUE events, membership and programs. The podcast will be updated monthly, and is soon to be joined by other CUE-branded podcast “channels.” At some point, the project may grow to allow students and members to submit their own audio for consideration and inclusion in the Student Voices podcast. The initial implementation will focus only on those schools that have received the equipment from CUE.

This project has been made possible by Apple Computer and Griffin Technology through their generous donation of equipment.
